LAMDA is London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Students go up the grade system similar to the way you do learning a musical instrument. These classes and exams nurture confidence and self development to be able to speak in front of others. They provide opportunities to widen their interests in the life around them and develop a strong and loud voice not afraid to be heard.
In order to make these lessons affordable for all, we offer LAMDA classes in groups of no more than 10 students. The students will be split into grade groups according to their ages and abilities. We will cover Acting, Verse and Prose and Speaking in Public in the first term, allowing the students to decide which category they prefer. This will allow the students to be able to pair up in the Acting category and work with a partner should they so wish. Please note that they will still be graded separately in the exam.
In the second term, we will work on the pieces the students choose, and possibly split the lesson so that each category has a separate teacher. Once the learner reaches the Medal grades 6.7. And 8, they can have private lessons and will gain UCAS points for university entry.
Through these lessons the students will have the opportunity to enter festivals and competitions, if they wish, in order to further develop their performance and confidence skills.
